Film - War Photographer
December 10, 2007 on 12:15 am | In General, Photography Websites | 4 CommentsI stopped by Movienik earlier today, and saw a write-up for the film War Photographer (2001). The film is about war photographer James Natchwey.
I know of Natchwey’s incredible photography, and his nonstop endeavers to “bear witness” to the events that occur during war time. I didn’t realize there was a film out about him, and will definitely check it out.
You might want to visit his personal website, and view his amazing photography, not only on the subjects of war (Afghanistan, Bosnia, Israel, Romania, South Africa, etc.), but also his photography concerning AIDS, industrial pollution, crime and punishment, and so much more.
Anniverary Wishes
December 6, 2007 on 12:30 pm | In Personal, Photography | 6 CommentsHappy anniversary dear mommy and daddy, together in another realm.
Married December 6, 1941, the day before the attack on Pearl Harbor…I can’t even imagine the glow of being newlyweds, married for one day, and having this tragedy occur.
You both weathered so much throughout your married lives together. But, more importantly, you gave Howard and I a sense of Self, your strength, your love and devotion (not only to each other, but to the two of us), and you both enriched our lives in so many ways. Thank you isn’t adequate enough…but…thank you.
A happy anniversary toast to you both. Cheers!
May love and peace surround you both on this anniversary day…your presence is constantly felt.
Birds of a Feather-Plus One
December 3, 2007 on 12:56 am | In General, Notes From the Garden, Photography | 12 CommentsI haven’t been out and about lately, and have been mainly in the house, except for when I am walking through my gardens and yard, when I’m sitting on my deck in the backyard, or sitting on my front porch. Wherever I am in my house or outside, I am constantly taking photos.
There were quite a few doves in one of my trees a couple of days ago…sitting there resting before they moved on to another yard.
I also saw a sweet little finch sitting within one of my shrubs. I put my lens through the branches of the shrub, and the little feathered-one didn’t fly off. I was able to get a quick photograph before the sweet thing changed position and moved further inside the shrub.
Backyards, front yards, it doesn’t matter…nature’s sweetness is all around.
