Photo Sweetness
August 31, 2007 on 12:22 am | In General, WorldWide | No CommentsWhy not check out the two latest Nikon digital SLR releases. One is the D3. The other is the D300. They look like photo sweetness, but of course, I haven’t tested them or bought one, or personally know of anyone who has.
Look at this for a D3 preview.
Towers Against Blue
August 30, 2007 on 12:15 pm | In General, Photography | 7 CommentsI like architecture, and enjoy how the lines and geometrics often produce, not only eye-appealing form and structure, but how color and light can be embraced, and reflections and varied hues can be enhanced against background of sky.

I like all forms of architecture, from the old to the modern. I like how skyscrapers have a beauty of their own, often displaying nature’s tones. I wonder how many of you stop to notice the contrasts, the reflections, the windows with nature’s beauty illuminated within the panes of glass.

I like to look at old bell towers and clock towers. Sometimes you can find both in one tower. The old towers and spires are so nostalgic looking, so majestic as they stand proud, and filled with beauty. I often wonder what secrets they hold within their walls, and am interested in the history behind the towers.
New, old, it doesn’t matter, as to me every architectural form holds a beauty of its own, a feast for the eyes.
Angel Wings

May those who survived continue to find the strength to go on.
All Curled Up
August 24, 2007 on 10:44 pm | In General, Notes From the Garden, Photography | 4 CommentsThe drought has become a major issue. It is the worst drought in 100 years, according to the news sources. The past two weeks have reached record highs in triple digit temperatures, breaking daily, weekly, monthly and yearly records.

The leaves are falling off of the trees, and one would think it is autumn, or winter’s beginnings. In fact, it is summer, and the drought conditions are causing leaves to fall early due to lack of water. It is sad to see entire branches drooped over from lack of moisture.

Leaves are not only brown and curled up, but cracked, as if there is a chill in the air causing this condition. I can walk across my lawn and shuffle leaves, and the sound would be as if it was autumn season. Sad, indeed.

Rocking Penguins
August 18, 2007 on 11:23 am | In General, Photography | 8 CommentsI took a day trip the other day to the Tennessee Aquarium, located in Chatanooga, TN. I went there specifically to see the “Penguins’ Rock” Exhibit. I enjoy watching penguins, the way they stand in formation and their cute antics.

The exhibit is a permanent one, according to one of the docents. If you are in the Chattanooga area, I recommend you stopping by to see the exhibit. And, while you are there, walk through the rest of the aquarium. It is the world’s largest fresh water aquarium, so there is a lot to see within the two buildings.
