Over and Out
May 29, 2007 on 10:43 pm | In General, Notes From the Garden, Photography | 16 CommentsThe Memorial Day weekend is over. I was out and about, roaming through botanical gardens, book stores, and dining out. I bought seven books. I ate out in two different Italian restaurants, a Mexican restaurant, a Chinese restaurant, and in a deli.

I spent part of the weekend working in my garden, clipping, pruning, and giving my plants and shrubs a face lift. My daisies are blooming like mad, showing off their tones like beauty queens. I have the standard white daisy plants, and also purple daisies. They are a flower I have always loved. I will enjoy their sweet and vibrant colors throughout the spring and summer.

Pretty in Pink
May 26, 2007 on 10:11 am | In General, Notes From the Garden, Photography | 5 CommentsThere are certain things that need no words to describe their appearance, or how they make you feel, when you view them. These snapdragons bring joy to my eyes, and they look so pretty in pink.

Have a wonderful and safe weekend, everyone.

Set in Stone
May 25, 2007 on 10:02 am | In General, This and That | No CommentsIf you are a lover of nature and of man’s creative aspect within nature, then the book entitled Stone, by Andy Goldsworthy brings you a collection of his stone sculptures, illuminated in photographs, that is awe-inspiring and amazing. Andy Goldsworthy brings his unique perspective and relationship with nature through these wonderful captures of natural environments, which sometimes include man-made elements, such as steel.
Goldsworthy is a master at creating environments within an existing environment, blending elements of stone and form in striking patterns. He incorporates flowers, bark, leaves, steel and other formats within his stone sculptures.
His stone sculptures have been exhibited worldwide, from London to New York to Japan. To get an insight into his artistic endeavors, I highly recommend this photography book to everyone.
Joy Comes
May 23, 2007 on 11:52 am | In General, Personal | 8 CommentsJoy comes in tiny bundles. Welcome to the world, dear precious, girlie-granddaughter! Happy birthday this terrific and wonderful 23rd of May! I can’t wait to look at you, cuddle you, and feel your soft baby skin against my cheeks. You have brought delight into our family, and joy into the month of May. It is a merry month, indeed, and is now filled with the miracle of YOU.
My heart is happy, illuminated and full.
Life is Popping Out All Over
May 22, 2007 on 11:46 pm | In General, Notes From the Garden, Photography | 4 CommentsLife is popping out, showing its colors, the vibrancy a blaze of beauty, as the snapdragons in my garden dance in the wind.

I have a fondness for snapdragons stemming back to my childhood. I remember pinching the new blossoms, and opening the “dragon’s mouth”, listening to the snapping sound that emanated from the blossom.

Snapdragons come in many colors, including pink, white, orange and yellow. They add such a wonderful contrast to any garden, and look fantastic in borders, edging a walkway, or in front of hedges.
