Bridging the Years

December 30, 2006 on 8:17 pm | In General | 2 Comments

We will be bridging the years, shortly, leaving behind, 2006, and moving forward to the new year, to 2007 (although, some of you might already have bridged the years, due to your location in the global scheme).

One of my goals for 2007 is to travel to Italy, via England. How could a trip to Europe not include stopping over in England for a few days! I feel at home, when in England, and am always drawn back, as the country, literally, runs through my veins.

Why Italy? Why not! I was inspired by looking at some family photographs of Italian immigrant ancestors. I want to see their homeland, and enhance my senses to the culture, the landscape. I want to see, firsthand, the beautiful paintings and sculptures from the Italian Masters, such as Bernini, Donatello, and Da Vinci, and want to stare at Michelangelo’s Statue of David. I want to hike, deep into the hills of Tuscany, and explore the tiny villages and ruins, and want to inhale the history, and I want to taste the wonderful cuisine, the desserts, the fabulous wines.

What about you…do you have any special plans for 2007?

Mauricio’s Italiano Ristorante, located in Cookeville, TN

Fine Dining, in an inviting atmosphere…filled with warmth and ambience.

The moment you walk through the front door, you are immediately surrounded by charm, at Mauricio’s Italiano Ristorante. The owners, Monty Ethridge and Michael Robideau have gone out of their way to bring decor that enhances the mood and beauty of the architecture in Mauricio’s Italiano Ristorante.

The entrance door is often opened for you, and you are warmly greeted, by one of the two owners, Monty Ethridge, or Michael Robideau.   You are always greeted with a sweet smile from Mauricio’s Hostess, Casey.

Each wall is decorated to evoke a sense of relaxation and beauty.

If you enjoy excellent Fine Italian Food, prepared to perfection, with flair and presentation, and dining in an atmosphere of warmth, ambience, and romantic decor, you will not be disappointed, at Mauricio’s. The enchanting decorations, and the warmth of the owners and staff, is beyond compare.
In my opinion, Mauricio’s Italiano Ristorante, is the best dining establishment in the Upper Cumberland area, and compares equally with any Italian restaurant in major TN cities. With five being the highest, I give it 5+++ stars!

I have personally tasted everything on their menu. Peruse the divine Menu at Mauricios Italiano Ristorante. From the marvelous salads and entrees, to the scrumptious and mouth-watering desserts, each bite is a delight!

Mauricio’s Italiano Ristorante also has an excellent Wine List.

9rules Network Round 5 List

December 29, 2006 on 10:59 pm | In General | 11 Comments

The 9rules Network Round 5 List has been posted. I am quite excited to see that my son’s blog, jarkolicious has been added! How fun that both of us are now members of the 9rules Network! I was so excited when I saw his name on the list, and sprinted over to the phone, to call him and tell him that I saw his name listed! I live in TN, and he lives in Japan, and due to the time zones, we don’t physically speak on the phone as often as I would like to.

I am a proud member of the 9rules Network, and have been, since Round 4, and I have enjoyed my interactions with the members.

I am impressed with the additions during Round 5, and like the diversity of the sites that were added. There is something there for everyone, from anime to food, from marketing to photography, and personal blogs, from technology to gardening, you will surely find something that delights you.

Why not go and give 9rules a visit!

Are You Really Seven Hours From Turning 36??!!

December 27, 2006 on 7:32 pm | In General, Personal | 6 Comments

Are you really less than seven hours from turning 36-years old? Scott, aka jarkolicious.com, to some of his friends, is less than seven hours from turning 36-years old. Where did the time go??!!

Scott’s - First Birthday, Chocolate-Covered Face

Where did the time go, all those steps, from your first baby steps, to your first steps through kindergarten doors, and on to junior high school, and your first day walking into the halls of high school, until your step up to culmination, and watching you receive your diploma from high school??!!
Where did the time go? The child, the boy, who loved Big Wheels, Hot Wheels, movies, Disneyland, Magic Mountain, has turned into a fine young man. The child, the boy, who loved his Commodore 64, and his later version, the Commodore 128 (and, let’s not forget the TS 1000) has now become a techno-fiend, a website designer (go check out his website jarkolicious.com).

Where did the time go…a young man, joined the Navy in 1990, served in the first Gulf War, and now works in the IT field, in Japan, and is CISSP-certified.

Scott and Junko

Where did the time go, my son…my son, who is married, and a father, himself, of 12-year old Anthony, my grandson!! Where did the time go??!!

I have enjoyed your journey so far, and loved watching each step, on your way to maturing into the person you have become, am proud of each those stepping stones, the ups, the downs, the in-betweens.

Scott and Anthony

Happy birthday, dear Scott, dear son! At 10:04 p.m., Pacific Standard Time (PST), you will be 36-years old…where did the time go…..where, when and how, did time fly by so quickly!!
