Reaching Out

July 27, 2006 on 4:52 pm | In General, WorldWide | 4 Comments

There are moments in life where we find ourselves reaching out to others…to people we don’t know…to those we might never meet…to people worldwide…wherever the country they reside in…whatever their culture.

We are all one, under the same planetary umbrella…under the same sun…and we all bleed the same color blood…we are all connected…within the life force of the Earth…no matter who, or where we are.

Please take a moment to give your thoughts to those in need…from the children to the adults…give your thoughts to those who have died…whether through war or famine…natural disaster…or natural death. Reach out to someone, peacefully, in your own way…you will feel better for doing so.

With each person who leaves this realm…a piece of us has left…also.

Japan’s Underground Photography

July 27, 2006 on 4:33 pm | In General, Photography Websites | 2 Comments

Japan’s Underground Photography, by Joe Nishizawa, are incredible captures that will surely whet your photographic appetite, especially if you are a fan of science-fiction and/or architecture. His perspectives and angles exemplify excellence in photography. He brings us visions that look like cities of the future, visions beyond our belief and description.
His use of light and contrasts, along with capturing mood and geometrics, is incredible. Please check out his work, you won’t be disappointed.  His work is a true feast for the eyes.
Thank you, Scott.

The World Trade Center on September 13, 2001

July 27, 2006 on 10:42 am | In General, Photography Websites | 4 Comments

These incredible and compelling photographs were taken of the World Trade Center on September 13, 2001, at “Ground Zero”, two days after the initial act of terrorism.  The tragic and horrifying events of September 11, 2001, have been captured by photographers, from various areas, and, from afar. These were taken by an individual who was allowed inside the area, by an emergency response crew team member, when even journalists were not permitted to enter the area.

Thank you, Scott , for the link to these compelling photographs.

Keeping Cool

July 24, 2006 on 10:17 am | In Photography | 4 Comments

I was in a car, as a passenger, on the interstate, on the way to Nashville, TN, when I saw this horse traile, with a horse who had her/his head sticking out the window. The blindfolded horse was trying to keep cool in the 99 degree heat (actually 105+ with the humidity factored in). I am sure the blindfold helped the horse to not become frightened or spooked by the cars and trucks on the highway. I felt bad for the horse, imagining how hot it must have been inside the trailer. I hope the wind, created from the movement of the trailer, helped cool the sweet thing off, a bit.

I took the photograph through the car window, while the car was moving. I thought it made for an interesting picture.
