Charity and humanity doesn’t just begin with monetary donations. One can help in other ways. Join an organization and physically contribute, it will be rewarding to you, and help others along the way.

Librettos Unsung

Librettos Unsung

I meant to ask you those antique names,
genetic bonds now dandelion
puffs in the rhythm of the euphony.
Too belated now, the questions will
stay unarticulated, answers
tapestry wisps floating quietly
on a wave of white-matter tiers.

Today, tomorrow, I must enjoy
the comfort of your left hand upon
my face, the solace in your gaze as
our eyes now embrace each other through
fragile days hemmed wordless, squares on
the quilt of voiceless conversation,
charades of communication that
spend my hours in lament, tied to
your umbilical, grieving the silence
of your vocal chords, librettos unsung.

If You can’t donate money, help physically, don’t be passive.
Donate blood! Volunteer your time with local charitable organizations involved in relief efforts…helping with inventory, packing items for shipment, manning phone lines, etc. Organize a fundraiser, such as a 5 or 10k running event or car wash; sell candy, lemonade or hot chocolate, and donate the proceeds to a local relief organization. It will feel so good, after you have done so!
